THE PROJECT WILL MODERNIZE THE CLAYTOR CONCOURSE WITHIN WASHINGTON UNION STATION BY REDUCING CONGESTION WITHIN THE STATION TO SUPPORT THE CURRENT AND FUTURE NEEDS OF PASSENGERS AND VISITORS. TO ADDRESS EXISTING CONSTRAINTS OF THE WUSS FACILITIES, THE PROJECT WILL RECONFIGURE AND UPGRADE THE CONCOURSE SPACES, INCLUDING A TRANSPARENT NORTH WALL, IMPROVE ACCESSIBILITY AND WAYFINDING, AND MODERNIZE SUPPORTING MECHANICAL, ELECTRICAL AND PLUMBING SYSTEMS SO WUS CAN SAFELY AND EFFICIENTLY PROCESS CURRENT AND FUTURE PASSENGER VOLUMES. THE PROJECT WILL ALSO ADDRESS ADA AND LIFE-SAFETY DEFICIENCIES AND NON-COMPLIANCE WITHIN THE CLAYTOR CONCOURSE. INTERIOR WORK WILL ALSO INCLUDE NEW INTERIOR FINISHES FOR A MORE ENJOYABLE PASSENGER EXPERIENCE.
