Where the numbers come from
Every number in SpendQuery comes from an official public dataset, loaded as published and checked against the source after every load: federal totals match USAspending.gov, and each state's and county's totals match its own published data to the cent. Federal, state and county amounts are never added together: states and counties spend federal (and state) grant money, so the same dollars would be counted twice.
Before you rely on a number
SpendQuery is an independent project, not affiliated with or endorsed by any government or agency listed above. Answers are generated automatically from copies of these datasets: an AI model interprets each question, so an answer can misread a question or match the wrong organization, and the sources themselves can be late, incomplete or revised. Check important figures against the official source. Nothing here is financial, legal or investment advice. See the Terms of Use and the Privacy Policy.
