APPLICATION PURPOSE: THE CITY OF ALEXANDRIA LA WILL USE FEDERAL FUNDS FOR APPROXIMATELY 3 YEARS TO REIMBURSE ELIGIBLE COSTS ASSOCIATED WITH OPERATING AND PREVENTIVE MAINTENANCE ACTIVITIES FOR THE ATRANS TRANSIT SYSTEM.; ACTIVITIES PERFORMED: THE GRANT WILL PROVIDE FUNDING FOR OPERATIONAL AND PREVENTATIVE MAINTENANCE COSTS FOR ATRANS TO INCLUDE SALARIES WAGES BENEFITS OF OPERATING AND MAINTENANCE STAFF FUEL PARTS AND ANY OTHER COSTS ASSOCIATED WITH PROVIDING TRANSIT SERVICE IN THE CITY OF ALEXANDRIA SERVICE AREA.; EXPECTED OUTCOMES: THE CITY OF ALEXANDRIA (ATRANS) WILL PROVIDE RELIABLE AND EFFICIENT TRANSIT SERVICE TO ALL RESIDENTS LIVING IN THE SERVICE AREA BY AN ENHANCED TRANSPORTATION NETWORK. RESIDENTS WILL HAVE BETTER ACCESS TO HEALTHCARE JOBS RECREATIONAL AND EDUCATIONAL OPPORTUNITIES WHICH ADD TO THEIR QUALITY OF LIFE HERE IN CENTRAL LOUISIANA.; INTENDED BENEFICIARIES: ALL RIDERS IN THE CITY OF ALEXANDRIA SERVICE AREA WILL BE BENEFIT FROM ATRANS SERVICES.; SUBRECIPIENT ACTIVITIES: NONE.
