Past bid results: what similar work went for

Every bidder and amount on past public bids, from the bid tabulations governments publish as open data. Price your bid against what won, see how many firms bid, and how far apart they were. These are bids as opened, not awards: the low bidder usually, not always, wins.

Try: janitorial · mowing · overlay · bridge · roof · HVAC · signal · striping

5,421 past solicitations: the low bid came in at a median 90% of the engineer's estimate (middle half 79%–100%); a median of 4 bidders; the second bid was typically 8% above the low one.

Where this comes from

More states and cities publish bid tabulations only as PDFs; we add sources that publish them as data. Open Texas lettings show what similar ones went for on their own page: Texas DOT lettings.
