FAR and DFARS › FAR Part 52: Solicitation Provisions and Contract Clauses › Subpart 52.2
FAR 52.222-5 Construction Wage Rate Requirements—Secondary Site of the Work.
The codified text (eCFR, as of 2026-10-02). Under the Revolutionary FAR Overhaul ↗, agencies follow class deviations with new text for many parts while the formal rules go through the Federal Register: check the solicitation and your contract's clauses, which rule.
In plain English
This provision tells offerors on construction contracts that they must notify the Government if they plan to do work at a secondary site of the work. If they are unsure whether a site qualifies, or if the existing wage determination does not cover that site, they must ask the Contracting Officer for a determination. Requesting a wage determination will not extend the deadline for submitting offers.
Applies to: Offerors on solicitations that include this provision
What it requires
- Notify the Government if you intend to perform work at any secondary site of the work
- Request a determination from the Contracting Officer if unsure whether a planned work site is a secondary site of the work
- Request a wage determination from the Contracting Officer if the Government's wage determination for the primary site is not applicable to the secondary site
