Questions people ask

How do I find open federal solicitations my small business actually qualifies for?

Eligibility for a small-business set-aside depends on two things on the notice: its NAICS code, which sets the size standard you must meet, and its set-aside type, which says who may bid. SpendQuery lists every open SAM.gov notice with both, free:

  1. Filter open notices by your NAICS codes and state, and by the set-aside you hold (small business, 8(a), HUBZone, women-owned, service-disabled veteran-owned).
  2. For each notice, check the SBA size standard for its NAICS code: you must be small under that code (average annual receipts or employees), counting affiliates.
  3. Rank the rest by fit: describe your work in plain words, or name a company whose work is like yours, and notices are sorted by closeness.
  4. Open a notice's brief for what the buyer needs, the deadline, the likely incumbent and earlier notices of the same buy.
