- California counties: each county government's own annual financial report to the California State Controller, all funds. County reports are annual and arrive about 16-18 months after the fiscal year ends. Revenues include state and federal aid, so never add them to state or federal totals.
- Fiscal years end June 30 (FY2024 = July 2023 – June 2024).
- San Francisco (a consolidated city and county) reports as a city and isn't included.
- Federal and state aid is what counties report receiving; it includes federal money passed through the state.
