The codified text (eCFR, as of 2026-10-02). Under the Revolutionary FAR Overhaul ↗, agencies follow class deviations with new text for many parts while the formal rules go through the Federal Register: check the solicitation and your contract's clauses, which rule.

In plain English

This DFARS clause allows authorized Government representatives to access the Contractor's on-base facilities. Access requires reasonable notice, except in an emergency. It matters because it gives the Government a right to enter contractor facilities, so contractors should be prepared for such visits.

Applies to: Contractors with on-base facilities under contracts that include this clause

Key terms: Government access · on-base facilities · reasonable notice · emergency · authorized representatives
