FAR and DFARS › FAR Part 52: Solicitation Provisions and Contract Clauses › Subpart 52.2
FAR 52.214-15 Period for Acceptance of Bids.
The codified text (eCFR, as of 2026-10-02). Under the Revolutionary FAR Overhaul ↗, agencies follow class deviations with new text for many parts while the formal rules go through the Federal Register: check the solicitation and your contract's clauses, which rule.
In plain English
This provision says that when a bidder submits a bid, the bidder agrees to keep the bid open for a set number of calendar days after the bid receipt date. If the government accepts the bid within that period, the bidder must supply the items at the bid prices and deliver them as specified. It matters because it sets how long a contractor's bid remains binding.
Applies to: Bidders responding to a solicitation that includes this provision
What it requires
- Agree to keep the bid open for the stated calendar days from the bid receipt date
- If the bid is accepted within that period, furnish the items at the bid prices
